For summer sessions on Hilton Head Island: reach out in spring, ideally April or May. For fall sessions: reach out in July or August. For spring graduation portraits: reach out in January or February.

What Senior Portrait Photography Actually Costs
Pricing for senior photographers varies widely, and understanding what you are actually paying for helps make the decision easier.
On the lower end of the market, you will find photographers charging $150 to $400 for a session. At this price point you are typically getting a basic session with limited posing direction, a small number of edited images, and minimal planning support.
In the mid-range, $500 to $700, you start to get more experienced photographers with a more defined style and a more structured experience.
At the luxury level, $700 and above, you are paying for a fully elevated experience: personalized planning, expert posing guidance throughout, a larger and more carefully curated gallery, faster turnaround, premium delivery, and a photographer who has made senior portraits a specialty rather than a side service.
At Ashleigh Snyder Photography, sessions start at $750 for the Base Package and $1,200 for the Elite Package.
I do not discount. The pricing reflects the full value of the experience I deliver, and I stand behind it. What I will tell you is that the families who invest at this level are consistently the ones who are most glad they did. Senior portraits are not a recurring expense. This happens once.
What to Look for When Choosing a Photographer
Beyond price, here is how to evaluate whether a photographer is the right fit.
Consistent style. Look through an entire gallery, not just the three best images on the homepage. Does the editing look consistent? Does the shooting style feel cohesive? What you see in the portfolio is what you will get in your daughter’s gallery.
Senior photography as a specialty. Photographers who specialize in seniors understand the experience differently than generalists. They know how to direct young women in a way that produces genuine expression and confidence rather than stiff, formal poses.
Clear communication. A luxury experience requires someone who communicates well. How quickly did they respond to your inquiry? Did they answer your questions thoroughly? Did they make you feel like a priority? These things matter and they tell you a lot about the experience you will have.
Published work and recognition. Being featured in publications like Senior SZN Magazine, Shutter Up Magazine, or Senior Style Guide indicates a level of quality that has been evaluated by editorial standards outside of the photographer’s own marketing.
Reviews from real clients. Read Google reviews, not just testimonials on the photographer’s website. Reviews give you an unfiltered picture of what working with someone is actually like.

The full gallery is delivered within my standard turnaround time, edited in my signature bright, warm, timeless style. Every image in the gallery is fully edited. You are not sorting through hundreds of raw files looking for the good ones.
Once your gallery is delivered, premium print products are available including wall art, albums, and print collections. These are not required but they are worth knowing about. The images are beautiful. They deserve to live somewhere beyond a phone screen.
